    Hello,
I’m looking to replace .6% carbopol 940 with Hydroxyethyl cellulose + Xanthan gum in a serum formula.  I tried just .7% Xanthan and achieved a similar viscosity but it now feels like there is a subtle film left on the skin.  HEC doesn’t seem to cause that issue so I’m thinking I’ll replace some of the Xanthan with that.  .5% HEC + .25% XG seems like a good start.  I’m not that familiar with HEC so my question is are there any issues with incorporating it into the LOI listed below?  I will not have enough time to do full length stability testing so I’m trying to gather information to give me a better sense if this will hold up well over a year of shelf life.
Also someone mentioned to me that there is a newer version of Xanthan gum that thickens more effectively at lower concentrations than standard XG.  Would you recommend that for this formula?
    Thanks!
