Hi all! What ingredients can we use in a waterbased leave on product to reduce the stickiness of the product other than silicones? I found even 2% glycerin leaves a sticky feel on the skin.
Your best approach is to avoid Glycerin (and Panthenol) completely is water-based toner-type products. It will be sticky even at 1% Glycerin if your product format is a Toner.
Chemist/Microbiologist formulating in the Organic & Naturals arena under ECOCert/Natural Products Assn/Whole Foods/National Organic Program guidelines focused skincare & haircare products.
Adding butylene glycol 1:4 with glycerin t any level of use will mitigate the tackiness you are reporting - if glycerin is the culprit. Without knowing the other ingredients, cannot say for sure. Got honey in there too?
