    Hello good day any inputs on a good antibacterial agent for Fabric Conditioner. i’m using the following for my formulation

    1.) Fabric Softner flakes
    2.) ENCAP
    3.) Fixative
    4.) Fragrance oil

    Very often, methyl- and methylchloroisothiazolidinone are used for such products. Are they good antimicrobial agents? Probably not… Are they good antimicrobial agents? Yes, they are.

    If that softener is an alkyl quaternary compound, which it likely is, your formula may be self-preserving. Otherwise BIT (the HI&I answer to MIT mentioned by Pharma) and a little IPA could go in there for good measure.
