    hi,
    am really new formulation and I would like some help. I have made an anhydrous body balm with 1% preservative 12 which is Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin. Will my Salve be ok for 12m mark considering some oils have a shorter shelf life and I wouldn’t be sure for how long the supplier has had them.

    Please advise.

    @bella82:

    Since it’s an anhydrous formula, you should be perfectly fine on the preservation.

    As to the oil, it all depends on the oils you are using as they all have different shelf lives.  You can add antioxidants such as Rosemary CO2 and Mixed Tocopherols to help extend the shelf life.
