Whats a good DIY mixing equipment/blender?

Hi all,

I was wondering if any expert can recommend a good DIY mixing blender. I am new to this so your help will be appreciated.

  • I use a cusinart stick hand blender. It's good for the basics, and it will mix for about ten minutes at a time before it needs a rest. I really love it, and it's not expensive at all.

There are stick hand blenders with removable heads, for easier cleaning. I think they're worth the extra money. I've also heard that it's possible to get a machine shop/fabricator to alter the heads to simulate a homogenizing mixer, although I haven't tried that myself.

A good, used overhead mixer with stand is also very useful. Try Ebay.
