I am a new learner. I am trying making detergents for personal use. I want to know when we balance the PH of any detergent then any acidic material like citric acid loss their action? Or retain it with in even alkaline detergents.
I have made a handwash using SLES, CAPB, CDEA, AOS, Glycerin and it leaving a sticky feeling on palm after washing so what was the reason?

Citric acid doesn’t have another function than lowering the pH.

What is the amount of each ingredient you use?
    Maybe it is DEA

@drjayseesunish CAPB behaves differently at low pH. Did you try a sample with a higher (above 7) pH?

How much glycerin did you use? Glycerin can feel sticky at high amounts.
