Recommendations on the target pH value of body wash? According to literature, the average pH of the skin is 4.7 and acidic conditions seem to preserve the resident bacterial flora, whereas an alkaline pH causes dispersal from the skin.
Generally, pH of 5.5 is recommended, but if the average skin pH is 4.7, should the target be around 4.7 too?
