Natural Cosmetic Ingredients - Honey

On a previous post about the Natural cosmetics market, someone left a comment that suggested I was anti-natural. This is not true, although I can understand how someone would get that impression.

Natural ingredients are important to cosmetic chemists because they help to sell products. They’re also important to cosmetic marketers so as a cosmetic chemist you need to keep your eye on news about the latest ingredients.

Here was an interesting news story about the use of Honey as a treatment for wounds. According to scientists Manuka honey has been clinically shown to treat bacterial infections. The researchers suggest that it could be used in place of antibiotics that some bacteria have become resistant to.

Interesting. For skin formulators, this kind of information could be the basis for an interesting lotion story.
