change the source of CAPB

Dear All,

I'm about using different supplier of CAPB (coamidopropyl betaine) what are the most critical specifications I should look for which might affect the final product stability ?

Any comment?

There are different forms of CAPB available. For instance, Dehyton AB. This is CAPB but has an extra nitrogen molecule that gives it a conditioning effect. In general though, you will want to check the % salt and % active matter content.

    There are two common grades
your standard 30% CAPB which can vary between OK, or cheap and crap, and the higher solids versions (Tegobetain F50 and equivalents)

Check the specs as a start, but the best way of checking if it fulfills your needs is to get a sample in and put it in product vs your current grade. That way you can check if the viscosity response and foaming is what you need

Check who the manufacturer is reputable manufacturers keep tighter batch to batch quality standards, than generic ones. It's perfectly possible to switch suppliers (distributors) but both of them sell product from the same manufacturer.
