In an oral spray we make, we mix PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil with methyl- and propylparaben and then add that to the batch.  In order to speed things up in production, would it be possible to make this premix and have it sit in the hotbox (~65C) until it is ready to go into the batch?  I don’t think it would be in there longer then 24 hours but I just want to be sure that it would not decrease the efficacy of the parabens in the final product.

Parabens are heat stable (to the temperatures reached in formulating) so the will probably be fine.

I even read that some of them need to be heated to increase solubility. Phenonip should be heated. Methyl and propyl paraben however can come as Germaben II which can’t be heated because of  Diazolidinyl Urea.
