Foaming in detergent laundry powder

Hello allall m new member and also new in chemical.
I have been making detergent laundry powder for manual user.

I use asm = around 8
Sodium Sulphate 95%wt
Sodium Carbonate -  3%wt
Sles granule -  0.8%wt
Sles - 0.6%wt
LABSA -  0.5%wt
CAPB -  1%wt

The problem is about foam. Its wont foam much.  And fast to dissolved.
My question is :
1.  Can u suggest foaming agent for laundry powder? In here,  the people want high foam.
2.  At now,  there is product call = HE detergent,  if the detergent dont have bubble,  can i call it HE detergent?
3. Accoding my formula,  if i  want make it to matic powder (front load machine laundry) can i just put deformer to make no bubble?
4. According  my formula,  if i want to make it to wol detergent,  can i just put citrate acid to make ph 7?

Thanks for ur answer.

    1. Higher concentrations of (neutralized) LABSA + SLES increase foam.
You can also add some Cocamidopropylbetaine, Cocamide DEA or some alkanolamide for both thickening and foam improving.

    2.
Foam is undesirable for machine washing.
IMO Propylene glycol is the easiest to find and cheapest defoamer. You can try some propietary silicone based defoamers too.
Also, remove SLES as it doesn't clean well and foams too much.
I don't know how much defoamers you'd need to call them HE.

    3. Read above

    4. Wol detergent? What's that?
You can add a bit less NaOH to neutralize LABSA so it has pH 7.

I don't think Sodium sulfate serves any purpose in the formula, so remove it.
Sodium carbonate will generate carbon dioxide thus lots of foam that will take hours or days to dissipate, on contact with LABSA. So you'd better neutralize LABSA with NaOH.

You'd need at least some 10% LABSA
    SLES is too low too.
Why SLES granules if you already have SLES?

    thank for the answer.

i mean wool detergent, i read in one of article, should have ph 7
    -----------------------------------------------------------
one of my competitor is sell $0.31, they use rubbing ash from wood and
burning charcoal's ash, make them look big and much. and i believe they use that ash + betaine.
so, i make cheapest formula as above, and use much sulfate. because i dont know cheaper than sulfate. but they said my foam is more less than product that use rubbing ash.
so i decide to change the formula
what do u prefer to choose to make high foam laundry?
    1. LABSA (0.7%)+SLES (0.7%) +Betain (2,4%)
    2. LABSA (1.5%) + Betain (2%) or LAbSA (1%) + Betaine (3%)
    3. SLES (1.5%) + Betaine (3%) or SLES (1%) + Betain (3.5%)

Why SLES granules if you already have SLES?
SLES granules i used is EMAL-10N, the chemical shop in here said to me, that product can make rich foam. because i dont have chemical background, i think its deference with SLES texapon 270N

    my process production is
sles - texapon 270N mix with water  + betaine
    labsa mix with water
then add to sulfate + carbonate
the result is the foam fast to dissoleve

    than i change to
add sles - texapon 270N to sulfate then
add labsa + water to sulfate
    then add betaine

(the water amount A with B is same)
the result is quantity foam is same like formula A but the speed to dissolve more slower than formula A

i not try yet the reuslt if betaine + water then add tho sulfate.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------

in here to make the legal product, the standart is total active sulfactan is 10-15, i still confuse with that
what the meaning total active sulfactan is 10-15%?
Active Surfactant Matter 10-15 or 10-15% from WT?
  • talking about powder detergent, im ussing:

    20% Methyl ether sulphonate
    40% pulverized SOAP
    20% Sttp
    10% sodium sulphate
    0.5% CMC
    Rest aditives, fragance, colorants, others.

The foam is very good, but soap tents to make scum and some times MES and SOAP are hard to dissolve,  does the Sodium sulphate in your formula its cappable to abdsorb your liquid labsa-sles-betaine with out making a cake ?

I dont use MES because more expensive than sles and labsa.  The cheapest in here is SLES.  and my target is low price
I think 20%wt its too much.
In my formula,  sulfate can absorb liquid labsa and betaine too. The amount labsa i have test is 0.5 - 3%wt For CAPB is 0.5-1%wt. if i rise quantity of labsa and capb the powder will wet, if i use sttp they can make the wet powder become dry,  but it make the price up.  If the gap price is near with popular brand,  its difficult to sell.

    Ity like this
    Labsa 3% + capb 2% + water 1% + perfume 1%.  Powder will wet and i must dry it 3 day.
    Sles 5%+capb 1% + water 1% + perfume 1% = 5 day to dry it.

I If use sttp 3%.  It will reduce dry time 1 day.
