HLB of Emulsifiers = Total HLB value of oil phase for stable emulsions

Please see attachment that is the formula and calculate the HLB. It show the HLB of creamMaker green coffee = 12 to 13. But the HLB of oils = 8.04. But it still work even 8.04 < 12.
Please help. Do I calculate HLB of oil phase wrongly?  THANKS

  • Thanks.
Is it correct that HLB of emulsifiers must be equal to HLB of oils phase?
    This case is not
  • HLB is for non-ionic emulsifiers. This is not an appropriate emulsifier for HLB calculations. In this case, forget HLB and use the recommendations of the distributor as listed in the above sheet.
