    Hi
I am working on a oil based eye makeup remover.
Originally the clients original formula had a very high amount of Cetiol OE - Dicaprylyl Ether
Its great for solubilising makeup but they found the product to be too irritating to the eyes.
Is there any natural based oils recommended to use that will not irritate the eyes? I am guessing it may be due to the high spreadability of this ingredient.
Any natural low spreading emollients available? Or other reasons why this may be irritating the eyes?

    Thanks

The thinnest natural emollient I have in the lab is Myritol 318, I think. Oh wait, you want a LOW spreading emollient. This is right outside my design abilities, so I think I would approach it by first looking for non-irritating emollients. Schercemol™ SHS Ester might be one to begin with.

The high spreading may well be what makes this work as a remover - have you tried jojoba oil or jojoba esters?
