What can you use to colir cosmetic liquids besides standard dyes?

    UK based formulation chemist. Strongest subjects: hair styling, hair bleaches, hair dyes (oxidative and non-oxidative) I know some stuff about: EU regulations, emulsions (O/W and W/O), toothpaste, mouthwash, shampoos, other toiletries

    Actually, you are not allowed to use anything to color cosmetics that are not approved on the FDA list.  (There is a similar list for the EU).

    If it is not listed here (even if it comes right from nature) you can't put it in a cosmetic for the purpose of coloring the product.
