    Hi John,

I wondered if you could help considering your experience with a beard!

I understand I have to be flexible with the "100% natural" and after reading through the forum people get hung up on plant based.

Could you help me with a simple formula where I can add my own essential oils, to create a beard and body wash / Shower gel ?

I want to keep as close to "Natural" as possible but I know I can use naturally derived ingredients.

    Thanks

    Mark

What hair bonding glue formula are you trying to make? Do you have an ingredient list? Also, you can post the question as a discussion so more people will see it.
  • Hi I have a question regarding Hydrated Silica powder! What liquid can be mixed with hydrated silica powder, so it can be solved in essentials oils, or do i need an emulsifier - So it can be mixed together. I Have heard that it is possible, and are there a certain way to do it? Thanks Peter.

  • Hello
I'm Johnb. I'm very old but have considerable experience in our industry having worked for Unilever, Paterson Zochonis and was Chief Chemist at a French Perfumery House for more than ten years- that's after initially working ten years in scientific research for the UK government.

Old, maybe, but my brain still works (even if the body is a bit decrepit) and I hope to be able to make some useful contribution to the group.

My expertise is in deodorants and antiperspirants, fragrances, skincare and small molecule topical pharmaceuticals. I have also worked in a number of other areas that involve fragrances including I&I, air fresheners and so on.

  • I made a shampoo based on the oil of Juniperus oxycedrus everything goes well during the laboratory phase I solubilized this oil in a nonionic surfactant the percentage of 0.3% but in the production phase I had  instead of clear brown color a cloudy shampoo with phase separation I would like to know if there is anything to do to save the batch I think my surfactant does not solubilise the oil properly

    Hi Belassi
when you use lye NaOH calculation for saponification at high temperature, one has to  add some water to avoid that soap becomes a rock , but no one of this calculators has water alone as ingredient. What can I Do? reduce lye concentration?

High temperature is a very careful way to make saponification soaps. When your soap becomes a rock you cant make nothing in this point. You need control the temperature since the starting. The gelification process cant take place before adding to the molds. If you reduce your lye concentration, maybe the saponification will be incomplete. I am soapmaker in Mexico.

    Hye. Good day.

I'm june from Malaysia. Currently i'm doing R&D for my hair care project. Frankly speaking, i didnt have any basic in chemistry and very limited education about it.

I have failed with the R&D, yet losing money buying the all the stuff too.

So i am looking for a formula that can help me to produce my own hair care product.

For your info, i am interested with hair pomade. Gel type waterbased (orthodox) and also unorthodox waterbased.

If u can provide me such formula i would like to know the price and the details of it.

Please let me know as soon as u ready. Hope u can help me.

    Thanks.
